Jason, the Managing Director of KCM Trade Australia, has nearly 20 years of experience in the financial industry, having held key positions at several internationally renowned financial firms. Recently, Jason appeared once again in an exclusive interview on the "Global Finance" program of SBS Chinese Channel (Australia's Special Broadcasting Service), where he provided an in-depth analysis of the Australian dollar's (AUD) trends, offering traders valuable market insights and professional perspectives.

AUD Lingering at Low Levels and Response Strategies
During his interview, Jason pointed out that the AUD has been on a continuous decline since last October and is now lingering at low levels, though it has gradually stabilized.
Jason analyzed that the recent U.S. non-farm payroll data showed an increase of 151,000 jobs, lower than the expected 160,000, reflecting a slowdown in the U.S. economy. This led to a 3.5% drop in the U.S. Dollar Index, marking a rare decline since the pandemic. The strong performance of the Euro and the Japanese Yen has also indirectly impacted the AUD's movement. Additionally, the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) announced its first interest rate cut in nearly five years on February 18, adjusting the rate to 4.1%, which reduced the appeal of carry trades and further affected the stability of the USD-AUD exchange rate.
Jason further explained that the AUD, as a risk-sensitive currency, is closely tied to market risk sentiment. For traders holding AUD-denominated assets, he recommended adopting a diversification strategy, such as allocating a portion of assets to safe-haven currencies like the Japanese Yen, to hedge against risks arising from AUD volatility.
