4th September 2023 – It is a busy time in financial markets, and our Chief Market Analyst was invited to appear on Channel News Asia (CNA) to give his take on key events around the world. Tim Waterer was interviewed on CNA’s Asia First program, where he spoke to the hosts about the latest US jobs data and what it may mean for US interest rates, while he also provided insights on what investors will be looking for when Chinese Trade Balance and inflation data is released.
The hosts were also keen to hear Tim’s thoughts about the performance of US equity markets and how high yields in the treasury market and expectations of rates staying higher for longer may impact corporate earnings. Speaking after the interview, Tim commented - “I enjoyed the opportunity to speak with the CNA hosts about many of the key events and themes in financial markets now.” Tim appeared via video from Sydney while speaking to the hosts in the Singapore CNA studio.
